Can I upgrade the accommodation?

Yes, absolutely. We can often offer upgraded accommodation options depending on your preferred travel style and budget. If you are interested in a higher room category, boutique stays, beachfront resorts, or more luxurious properties, please contact us, and we will be happy to discuss the available options.

Do I Require a Visa?

There are typically no visa requirements for travellers from Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, the US, or the European Union. However, if you plan to stay in the Philippines for over 30 days, you will need a visa extension costing approximately $80. Check with your local consulate in the Philippines for more information.

You will need to complete the Philippines eTravel declaration before arrival.

Do I Need Travel Insurance?

We highly recommend buying travel insurance for this holiday. However, it is not required when making a booking.

How Much Spending Money Will I Need?

We suggest you budget around AUD 50-$80 spending money per day. All your internal flights, accommodation, activities, and some of your meals are included in the cost of your booking. Extra meals, drinks, souvenir shopping, etc., are discretionary spending.

What Should I Do Before the Tour Begins?

You will need to arrange for your flight to Manila. However, we’ll coordinate an airport pickup for you upon arrival. Just tell us your flight details beforehand, and we’ll make it happen for you.

What Happens at the End of the Trip?

This Philippines tour package ends in Boracay. For those who don’t wish to leave right away, our team can help you organise additional travel. You can also book one of our add-on trips. If you’re only staying for your booking, we can help with your journey back to Manila.

We typically recommend booking a final night in Manila before your international flight, or booking your flight out of Manila later than 8 pm.

What should I pack?

When packing for the Philippines, think light, versatile, and tropical-friendly. Essentials like breathable clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, and insect repellent will go a long way, while a dry bag and power bank are must-haves for island hopping and long travel days. If you prefer extra comfort, you might also bring along luxury items like a snorkel set, e-reader, or travel hammock. To make it easy, we’ve put together a detailed Philippines packing list that covers everything from clothing and electronics to plane essentials—so you’ll know exactly what to pack for the Philippines.

Is tipping customary in the Philippines?

Tipping is not compulsory in the Philippines, but it is appreciated and is a lovely way to recognise good service. In restaurants, some venues include a service charge, but for drivers, guides, boat crew, and hotel staff, small tips are always welcomed if you feel the service has been good.

Can I use my phone in the Philippines?

Yes, in most cases you can. If your phone is unlocked, you can usually use either your home provider’s roaming or buy a local SIM or eSIM once you arrive. Globe offers tourist eSIM and SIM options, which can be a convenient choice for travellers who want data as soon as they land.

What is the internet like in the Philippines?

Internet is generally good in cities, major tourist destinations, hotels, cafés, and resorts, and mobile data is widely used by travellers. That said, speeds and reliability can vary, especially on smaller islands or in more remote areas, so it is a good idea to expect occasional dropouts or slower connections outside main hubs. Using a local SIM or eSIM is often the easiest way to stay connected while travelling.

Can I drink the water in the Philippines?

It is best not to drink tap water in the Philippines. Bottled water is the safest option, and it is also wise to be cautious with ice, as it may be made from tap water. Smartraveller advises using bottled or sterilised water and avoiding tap water even for brushing your teeth.
