Philippines Group Tour - More info

Arrival Information

The Do The Philippines group tour starts at 6pm at Z Hostel, Makati. You should fly into Manila airport, which is approximately a 45-minute taxi ride to Z Hostel (depending on traffic). If your flight arrives after 5pm, it’s best to arrive on the day before the tour start date so you don’t miss out on any of the excitement. We can arrange your accommodation for the night before if needed. Extra nights will be approx. $70AUD per night.

Staying on After the Philippines tour?

We don’ blame you, who wants to leave paradise? The tour finishes on the beautiful island of Siargao. If you’re staying on longer in the Philippines, your group leader can help organise all of your onward travel, including any of our add-on packages. If you’re just doing the Do the Philippines trip and then heading home, it’s a short van ride to Siargao airport (your tour leader can organise this for you) and a 1 hour 45-ish minute flight to Manila. There is one direct flight per day from Siargao arriving in Manila at around 6:30PM so the earliest we recommend booking an onward flight out of Manila is around 9 pm on day 16.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance for this trip is compulsory. Your Group Leader will ask to see proof of your cover before your trip begins. We have teamed up with Nomads Travel Insurance to make the process super easy, grab yourself a quote here

Philippines Visas

Most nationalities including Australia, UK, Europe, NZ, Canada, and the US do not need a visa to enter the Philippines. If you plan to stay in the Philippines for longer than 30 days you will need to extend your visa for a fee of approximately $80 AUD. We recommend checking with your local Philippines consulate for up to date visa requirements and costs. If you need any further help with visas just contact us.

Philippines Group Tour - FAQ's

Can I connect with my group before I leave?

Yes! Once you’ve booked and before you travel we’ll help put you in touch with the rest of your group so you can start chatting and getting to know each other.

How much spending money will I need to travel the Philippines?

All of your internal flights, activities, accommodation, transport, and some meals are included throughout the duration of the tour, so you’ll just need money for any extra meals, drinks, shopping, and any onward travel. We recommend you bring at least $500 AUD spending money for the trip.

What luggage do you recommend?

We always recommend traveling with a backpack and packing light! 10-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. It’s generally quite hot in the Philippines, so dragging around a huge suitcase is not much fun. You’ll also need a small overnight bag (we would recommend a drybag/waterproof bag) for the 3-day boat expedition.

What’s the accommodation like on tour?

A perfect mix of hotels, hostels, traditional Filipino bungalows, and beach camping! We have hand-picked accommodation throughout the Philippines which is clean, comfortable and most of all allows our travellers to enjoy an authentic Filipino experience without sacrificing comfort! Learn more about the accommodation on our group tours here

What if I arrive early?

That’s totally fine! Unless you tell us otherwise we’ll automatically book you into our accommodation from the day you arrive. If you would like us to book you extra nights accommodation, there will be an option for you to add this to your order when you go through to the booking page.

I will be travelling alone, is that ok?

Absolutely!  90% of the people who join us are solo travelers as well so you definitely will not be alone for long!  Most of our accommodation is twin or triple share, and we will put you in a room with someone of the same gender.

Please get in touch if you have any other questions about this Philippines tour

wow, Wow, WOW! Just finished the 16 day tour and words cannot describe what an amazing experience it has been! I’ve always wanted to travel the Philippines but with over 7k islands to see and a much different transport system and way of life; I had no idea where to begin. Do You Travel took all that worry away for me. The accommodation was great, the transport was comfortable and the food was delicious (my only complaint is I couldn’t eat anymore as I was fit to burst having always been fed like a king!) The only worry I had was working out how I was going to leave the Philippines behind.. The itinerary is well planned, thought out and encompasses so much variety and life changing experiences! How often can you say that you’ve climbed one of the world’s smallest active volcanoes, chased waterfalls, seen a whole array of marine fish in their natural habitat, been mesmerised by turtles, seen starfish bigger than your head, been arms reach away from the gentle giant whale sharks, launched yourself off of mountain rocks in to clear blue seas canyonering, watched sunsets and sunrises that light up the whole sky, been fed like a king, treated like royalty and felt like you’ve found your home from home?? It still amazes me now that I literally did all of that in just 16 days! Alyssa was my tour guide and I really have to say that she made my time in the Philippines that extra special. Right before booking the tour, throughout and even on my onward journey she been on hand to answer any questions, concerns or worries I have. I’ve felt completely comfortable and safe in her hands and will be sad to say goodbye! Salamat Do you Travel and a special Salamat to Alyssa! If your considering visiting the Philippines then hesitate no more; make your dreams come true, book that flight, book this tour and live the dream because you will not regret it!!

Amazing tour!! Everything was really well planned out and there were so many highlights I cant even mention them all! I love the fact that they use the time so well and the route is so perfect that we only spend a few hours on the road at a time. Not 1 day is wasted!

Itinerary was awesome. Jam packed with awesome activities to the point that we were absolutely exhausted by the end, but spending 4 days in Siarago at the end of the trip was the most perfect way to finish it off!

Alyssa is the best – she made this trip ome of my best life experiences she is dedicated, has alot of humour, is flexible and cool, also really did well particularly with the cotonavirus issues we had, making me feel safe and secure that we would not get stuck, and she ensured we were able to fly home with no issues. Highlights for me were partying in El Nido, the El Nido to Coron expedition which was just full of the most beautiful sunsets, beaches and cocktails! We had great company, bonfires and the whole vibe was just superb, this is exactly what you want when visting the Philippines. It was sad that because of the coronavirus we were not able to stay in siargao but now I have a reason to come back 🙂 Alyssa did amazing it is not easy with a small group but i wouldn’t change a thing regarding this tour and i would recommend it to anyone!

This trip was above and beyond what I expected. Alyssa was professional and helped to make the experience the best it could be. The highlights for me were swimming with the whale sharks, canyoneering and Siargao island hopping. I would without a doubt book another tour with Do You Travel. Complete value for money ?
