Common Questions

Hosted Philippines Influencer Trips

How does hosting a trip with Do You Travel work?

You bring your community, we bring the Philippines expertise. Together we design a trip your audience will love, and once it’s confirmed, we handle the planning, bookings, suppliers, and on-ground operations — you focus on bringing your people together and being the heart of the group.

How do I earn from hosting?

Every host trip comes with a complimentary place plus host earnings, confirmed individually with you once we’ve built out your trip.

Your complimentary host place includes the same core inclusions as your travellers, such as accommodation, selected meals, transport, and activities as outlined in the itinerary.

Things like flights are a separate cost to factor in when you’re thinking about your own trip economics.

What does Do You Travel handle vs. what do I handle?

We handle the itinerary, bookings, payments, supplier relationships, and on-ground operations. You handle promoting the trip and being the heart of the group experience.

How many followers do I need to run a trip?

There’s no strict follower minimum. What matters more is genuine engagement. We’d recommend running a quick survey or expression-of-interest post with your audience first, so we can gauge real appetite before building out a full itinerary together.

How far in advance do I need to start planning my trip?

We generally recommend starting the planning process at least 6 months in advance, with 9-12 months considered best practice. That said, the ideal lead time can vary depending on the destination and how ready your audience is to jump in and commit. Longer lead times give us more flexibility to refine the itinerary, secure better pricing, and access a wider range of accommodation and activities. It also gives you more time to promote the trip and allows guests to spread their payments over a longer period.

How do guests pay for their trip?

Guests book and pay directly with Do You Travel through our secure booking process — typically a deposit followed by scheduled payments. We manage all payments, invoices, and any refunds in line with our booking terms, so you’re never handling money directly.

What happens if the trip doesn't reach minimum numbers?

If a trip doesn’t hit its required minimum by the agreed date, it may be cancelled — travellers are refunded in line with our booking terms, and in this case no host earnings are paid out.

What support does Do You Travel provide?

We’re with you before, during, and after the trip — handling planning, bookings, supplier coordination, and on-ground operations, plus a dedicated trip page and guidance on how to promote it to your audience.

When do I get paid?

Host earnings are confirmed and paid after the trip, once everything’s reconciled — full details are in your individual host agreement.

What are the Host Program Terms?

Host Program Terms

These Host Program Terms apply to anyone who applies to host a group trip with Do You Travel (“DYT”, “we”, “us”). By applying to our Host Program, you agree to these terms. If you’re accepted as a host, you’ll also sign a Master Host Collaboration Agreement, which sets out the full legal terms of our working relationship, and a Specific Trip Schedule for each individual trip you host, which sets out that trip’s dates, numbers, and earnings.

Eligibility and Application
Anyone with an engaged audience interested in the Philippines can apply to host a trip with us. There’s no strict follower-count requirement — we’re more interested in whether your community is genuinely engaged and likely to travel with you.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the Host Program. We assess each application individually, considering factors including audience fit, content quality, and destination feasibility.

We may decline an application, or end a host relationship, at our discretion, including where we believe the partnership isn’t a good fit for either party.

How a Trip Comes Together

  • You apply and tell us about your community and the trip you’re picturing.
  • If approved, we work with you to design a custom itinerary.
  • We confirm the commercial details for that specific trip with you in writing.
  • You promote the trip to your audience using DYT-approved pricing and content.
  • Once the trip reaches its required minimum number of paying travellers, it’s confirmed.
  • You travel and host the group — we handle the on-ground operations.

Minimum Numbers
Every trip has a minimum number of paying travellers required for it to go ahead, confirmed with you as part of your Specific Trip Schedule. If a trip doesn’t reach this minimum by the agreed deadline, it may be cancelled, travellers are refunded in line with our booking conditions, and no host earnings are paid for that trip.

Host Benefits and Earnings
Hosts receive a complimentary place on their trip, with inclusions confirmed as part of each Specific Trip Schedule. Hosts also earn host earnings for paying travellers who book through their promotion.

Host earnings are not travel-agent commission, and hosts do not act as DYT’s travel advisor at any point.

Host earnings are calculated and paid after the trip is complete and fully reconciled, subject to DYT’s receipt of a valid invoice where applicable.

Your Role as a Host
As a host, you’re the heart of the group experience — welcoming your travellers, creating connection, and bringing your own energy and style to the trip. DYT-appointed local guides and suppliers manage the operational and safety side of things on the ground.

Hosts are required to:

  • Attend the entire trip, from arrival to departure
  • Attend pre-departure briefings
  • Direct any booking, payment, or operational questions from travellers to DYT
  • Behave professionally and follow the reasonable instructions of DYT-appointed guides and suppliers
  • Hold comprehensive personal travel insurance for the full duration of the trip

Hosts must never collect payment from travellers, offer unapproved discounts, change the itinerary, or make promises about specific accommodation, weather, or wildlife sightings.

Marketing and Disclosure
We encourage hosts to promote their trip in their own authentic voice. To keep things accurate and compliant, DYT must approve pricing, itinerary claims, photographs, and any discount offers before they’re published.

Every promotional post about a hosted trip must clearly disclose that you receive a complimentary place and earnings, and that DYT is the tour operator. Simple hashtags like #collab or #hosted on their own aren’t sufficient — the disclosure needs to be clear and understandable to your audience.

Bookings and Payments
All traveller bookings and payments go directly through DYT. Hosts are never responsible for collecting money, issuing invoices, or handling refunds — that’s entirely on us.

Cancellations
If a host needs to withdraw from a confirmed trip, they should tell us as early as possible. Depending on the circumstances and timing, this may affect host earnings for that trip, and DYT may need to bring in an approved substitute host to keep the trip running for its travellers. Full detail is set out in the Master Host Collaboration Agreement.

Tax and Business Obligations
Hosts are responsible for their own tax obligations, including income tax and any GST or equivalent sales tax. If you operate as a registered business, we may require a tax invoice from you before paying host earnings. We’d recommend checking with your own accountant if you’re unsure what applies to your situation.

Confidentiality
The commercial details of your Specific Trip Schedule (pricing, host earnings, minimum numbers) are confidential and shouldn’t be shared publicly or with other hosts.
