Itinerary

Day 1Manila - Your adventure begins!

Mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines! Upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), a driver will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodation in the capital of Manila. Take some time to relax and settle in, then spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. If you feel like heading out and exploring for the evening, you’ll find lots of cool restaurants within the neighbuorhood, serving almost every cuisine from Filipino to Mexican to Middle Eastern. The area is also known for its nightlife, with no shortage of hotspots to grab a few drinks or enjoy a night out.

Day 2Manila to Bohol

Today you will be picked up from your Manila hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to Bohol. Upon arrival in Bohol, our transfer van will pick you up at the airport and take you to your Bohol Accommodation. Spend the remainder of your day in Bohol at leisure.

Day 3Chocolate Hills, Lombok River and Tarsiers

Today you will venture out and see the best of Bohol’s countryside with a full day tour! Starting with a pick up from the hotel, you’ll be taken directly to the historical Blood Companct Shrine. Locally known as Sandugo (which roughly translates to one blood), the Blood Compact Shrine is the exact site where Spanish explorer Captain General Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and Datu Sikatuna, drew blood from their palms, and drank it – a symbol of their friendship. Next, you’ll be brought to the Baclayon Church, one of the oldest churches in the Philippines, declared a National Treasure of the country. From there, head to the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary, where you’ll get a very rare chance to see the world’s smallest primate, the adorable, bug-eyed tarsier close up. Next up: a delightful buffet lunch on the Loboc River, on a floating and moving restaurant no less. After lunch, head to the Bilar Manmade Forest, a man-made mahogany forest that stretches 2 kilometers long, so beautiful you’ll actually feel like you’re in a movie while walking down the road. Finally, a highlight in Bohol and one of the most favourite tourist destinations: the world famous Chocolate Hills, made up of 1,268 cone shaped hills that turn brown in the summer, baffling many geologists.

After a long day of exploring Bohol, this evening will be yours to spend at your leisure.

Day 4Panglao Island Hopping and Dolphin Watching

See some of Bohol’s most beautiful islands with this half day island hopping tour. Discover what makes Bohol such a favourite for locals and foreigners with a visit to Balicasag Island and Virgin Island. Begin the day with an early wake up call and pick up at your hotel, immediately followed by departure for your first stop of the day, Balicasag Usland, famous for its colorful corals and abundant marine life! Once you arrive, enjoy watching the dolphins at the reef, and then get close encounters with the fish and more with some snorkeling and fish feeding in the crystal-clear waters. End the tour by heading over to Virgin Island and strolling along the beautiful white sand sandbar before going back to your hotel.

Day 5Bohol to Dumaguete

Be picked up from your accommodation and transferred back to the ferry port to catch the ferry to Dumaguete. Once arrived, take a van to your accommodation in Dumaguete. The night is yours to spend at your leisure

Day 6Siquijor Cambugahay Falls and Heritage Day Trip

Today you will explore the beautiful island of Siquijor, best known to locals as an island shrouded in mystery and the supernatural, also boasts of undisturbed beaches and virgin forests. During the colonial full stop, the Spaniards referred to Siquijor as Isla del Fuego (Island of Fire) because of the luminiscence produced by swarms of fireflies nestled among the foliage of molave trees. It will definitely be worth your while to discover what this quaint island has to offer! You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Dumaguete in the morning to go to the pier and board a ferry bound for Siquijor Island. After a ~90-minute journey, your island exploration begins with a quick stop at the St. Francis de Assisi Bell Tower and the St Vincent Bell Tower before heading up a hill to Triad Cafe for lunch. From the cafe, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the town of Larena and the surrounding islands of Negros and Cebu. Next is a rolling tour of the coastal towns of Enrique Villanueva and Maria, where Salagdoong Beach and Cang-Isok House are located. Your guide will then bring you to the town of Lazi, where you can take a refreshing swim at the Cambugahay Falls and later visit a huge Balete Tree, which is said to be over 400 years old and is believed by the locals to be enchanted. Finally, you’ll be brought back to the Siquijor pier for your ferry ride to Dumaguete

Day 7Dumaguete Day Tour

Today you will explore Dumaguete’s Red Rock Hot Spring, famously known for its distinguished rust-coloured rocks and natural hot springs.
Be captivated by the Red Rock (Pulang Bato) Falls that boasts a seemingly red river water caused by the presence of sulfur deposits in the water and oxidized rocks. Spend some time relaxing at your own leisure at The Forest Camp Nature Resort, which features a forest-like haven with natural amenities, pools, and rivers perfect for nature-lovers.

Day 8Dumaguete to Moal Boal

Be picked up from your accommodation and transferred back to the ferry port to catch the ferry to Moal Boal. Once arrived, take a van to your accommodation in Moal Boal. The night is yours to spend at your leisure.

Day 9Whale Sharks & Kawasan Falls

Ready for an adrenaline rush? Travel via private car to Oslob, where you’ll get up close to the friendly whale sharks. This slow-moving filter-feeding carpet shark is one of the largest known fish species – and a true sight to behold.

On the trip, you will not only get to snorkel and swim with the whale sharks but also participate in the feeding.

Upon arrival, you’ll get your snorkelling gear and swimming attire on before hopping in the water for your whale shark encounter. Make sure to capture your moments with the whale sharks with your GoPro!

Head next to Kawasan Falls, a pristine natural paradise nestled near the Badian mountains, and up the Matutinao River. Equip your canyoneering gear and set out on a slippery and exciting path. Scramble, hike, climb, and jump your way through a trail that takes you through ravines, across gorges and waterfalls, and into natural pools.

Part of your journey follows the Kanlaob River, famed for its blue water. Pause for lunch midway through your canyoneering journey, replenishing your energy before wrapping up your afternoon with more swimming below the Kawasan Falls. Then, we’ll take you back to your hotel.

Day 10Pescador Island Hopping and Sardine Run

Today includes a half-day at Moalboal’s famous marine park. Pescador is a small island off the west coast of Cebu, close to Moalboal. It is an excellent snorkeling location because you can see a variety of fish, and beautiful coral reefs, and, if you’re lucky, you can also see dolphins.

The next stop is the famous sardines run. You will be snorkeling with countless sardines in Cebu’s famous sardine run. Sea turtles are also everywhere in Moaboal. The sardine run and turtle chasing activities are only a few meters from Panagsama’s shore.

This evening you will be transported to Cebu where you can spend the night in the city at your leisure.

Day 11Cebu City and Highlands Day Tour

Experience the charm, beauty, and heritage of Cebu City on this immersive historical tour, filled with captivating landmarks and enriching cultural insights.

Your day begins with a hotel pick-up, and your first stop is Simala Church, a majestic sanctuary nestled amidst rolling hills. Admire the intricate architecture and serene ambiance of this sacred site.

Visit Fort San Pedro, the oldest triangular bastion fort in the Philippines. Explore the well-preserved fortification and learn about its significant role in Philippine history.

After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the Taoist Temple, where traditional Chinese architecture meets lush tropical foliage. Enjoy panoramic views of Cebu City from the temple’s vantage points.

Your journey then takes you to Magellan’s Cross, a symbol of faith and cultural convergence, and the nearby Basilica Minore del Santo Niño.

Finally, you will conclude your tour at Plaza Independencia, a historic square steeped in the echoes of freedom and independence.

As the day comes to a close, your guide will return to your hotel in Cebu, leaving you with memories of a day filled with discovery and wonder in Cebu City.

Day 12Bonvoyage

Sadly all good things must come to an end. This is the final day of the tour.

Philippines Tour Package - FAQs

Thinking of booking the Discover the Phillippines Tour? Here are some things you should know.

What Should I Do Before the Tour Begins?

You will need to arrange for your flight to Manila. However, we’ll coordinate an airport pickup for you upon arrival. Just tell us your flight details beforehand, and we’ll make it happen for you.

What Happens at the End of the Trip?

At the end of your 16-day booking, you’ll enjoy Siargao Island. For those who don’t wish to leave right away, our team can help you organise additional travel. You can also book one of our add-on trips. If you’re only staying for your booking, we can help with your journey back to Manila.

A quick van ride gets you to the Siargao airport, where a flight to Manila – of just under two hours – awaits. Flights typically land in Manila between 5:30 and 6:30 pm daily. We don’t recommend booking a flight onward from Manila for earlier than 9 pm on your final day.

Do I Need Travel Insurance?

We highly recommend buying travel insurance for this holiday. However, it is not required when making a booking.

Do I Require a Visa?

There are typically no visa requirements for travellers from Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, the US, or the European Union. However, if you plan to stay in the Philippines for over 30 days, you will need a visa extension costing approximately $80. Check with your local consulate in the Philippines for more information.

How Much Spending Money Will I Need?

We suggest you bring at least $600 AUD spending money for the trip. All your internal flights, accommodation, activities, and some of your meals are included in the cost of your booking. Extra meals, drinks, souvenir shopping, etc., are discretionary spending.

Luggage Recommendations?

Pack light! We recommend that travellers bring a rucksack or backpack and limit their belongings to between 10 and 20 kilograms. Remember, it is hot and humid in the Philippines. Carrying a lightweight pack on your back is much more pleasant than lugging around a massive suitcase.
